Tonight after dinner we were walking through the lobby of the hotel we are staying at and we could hear the most magical music playing quietly barely audible above the noise of the bar. As we walked closer we found this lone piano player playing so beautifully. It was amazing. This song he wrote called ,”Fantasies and Memories.” I told him his music is a gift and it’s a blessing for this hotel and all who are here. He told me his prayer before he plays, that he intends his music Blesses everyone who hears him play!✨🎶 Prayers answered!! I was thrilled to find the latest @time Magazine yesterday, has one of my favorite people on the cover! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎉🎉 His Holiness The Dalai Lama! I LOVE this picture is of him meditating in the privacy of his own home. He gets up at 4 and meditates for up to 4 hours every day!🔥🔥 This quote resonated so strong; “ Western civilization, including America, is very much oriented toward materialistic life.” He says. “But that culture generates too much stress, anxiety and jealousy, all these things. Today I was in Walgreens paying for my items and I asked the cashier how he was doing today. He paused for minute and then said, “ Actually REALLY well!” I was taken aback and said, “Wow! I don’t hear that very often!” He told me that something really awesome had happened today! And I asked would he mind sharing with me exactly what awesome thing was happened to him!?!?! He shared with me that he found out today that he would not be going to prison! He had been waiting for 6 months to find out and today he finally was notified! I High five’ed him and asked what he could have possibly done to have that hanging over his head? He looked like a nice young kid. He said he had gotten so drunk one night and doesn’t remember assaulting a police officer and getting the tattoo on the full length of his forearm that he showed me, that looked like a two year old had scrawled “Viva La Vida Loca!” (Meaning- Here’s to The Crazy Life! ) He was horrified that he could have done those things! I laughed and joked,” And to top it off you will now get to live til past 21!” He got all serious and said, “Ya, Actually I’m only 18!” By the severity of this statement I could feel his remorse and that he was now sober. I congratulated him with great sincerity on hearing Life’s WAKE UP CALL,getting sober and changing his life. He almost burst into tears. We paused and I looked deep into his eyes and said, “I’m glad you are alive!” He softened, and said,”Thank You! Me too!” We never know who is standing right in front of us or what they have been through, unless we get present and open to who and what Life puts in front of us on our path. We can make a big difference in the world by just acknowledging each other, saying hello and even smiling. We just don’t know what it can mean to another person! -The Wavelet💦 By Paramahansa Yogananda Someday, when I remove the mystery cork from this bottle of flesh, I will slip this long-caged, wistful sigh of Life back into the Ocean of Breath. Yet, O Mystery, I will tear aside thy long-deluding Veil, which has hidden from me the liberating knowledge that the all-solacing Bliss Sea lay just beneath my life’s wave. Long has this little wavelet been tossed and buffeted by the storms of rebirth, moved from shore to shore, hiding in phosphorescent bosoms of pearls, throbbing beneath the subterranean algae, or dancing with the amoeba and sea urchins, or gliding among the silver-finned flying fish. Dashing past the bubbles of stars in the skyey ocean, or dancing on the shores of planetary Life. Many times this wavelet tarried for a time, in the heart of Great Life, and yet, after a short slumber, mischievous and spritely, it became truant again and bounded out onto the rocks of shattering sorrow. “Come back, my little prodigal baby wavelet, return and sleep in My cradle of Eternal Calm,” said a Voice. But I replied: “ I cannot rest for so long, and do not want to fall asleep, never to awaken again. I am Life! I must live and not sleep only, I must dance, I must throb, and move over the ocean of everywhere.” Then I heard the roaring wisdom -call again, bounding over infinity. “Little wavelet, you can never be happy without Me. Come, Little wavelet, you need not sleep all the time, but may dance with Me, anon, the dance of omniscience on the sea of omnipresence, clasping My arms of starry rays, or holding My petaled hands of flowers, or clasping Me in the bosom of human friends. This morning on my 6 mile hike, I came across a Chinese man from Taiwan. He was very out of place and dressed for the city, on this remote trail but he was gleaming with joy! He barely spoke English. We started talking and he was amazing at the incredible beauty of this nature and view of the hills. He could barely stand it. He said,”You Very Lucky!” To Be submersed in nature was such a gift for him as he is from a very crowded city. I talked with him a bit more and continued on my way. We are very lucky, all of us. But we take so much for granted. As I hiked I started to take a personal inventory for all the things I too take for granted and am SO grateful for. It really shifted me into more joy and appreciation for this beautiful Life, nature, all my relationships and my physical health. What are you grateful for, that you maybe taking for granted today??
